Is it worth upgrading the RAM in this laptop?

I have a Lenovo laptop that i was hoping to use for gaming. It has a 2 GB video card, a (weak) 2GHz AMD APU, and 16GB of 1066 RAM. Is it worth upgrading the RAM to 1600? Would it make a noticeable difference in fps while gaming?

Added (1). the CPU will turbo up to 3.2GHz

No your RAM is high enough doesn't need changing anything 8GB is more than sufficient

No, 16GB RAM is enough

Increasing RAM won't do anything to your framerate.

Ram is usles buy more cpu and storage

I'm talking about the speed of the ram, not the size

No 16GB RAM fast enough.

The amount of ram is more than enough but the speed is a little slow. Yes gettIng faster ram will help but not by much since you have a dedicated graphics card.

The cost of the ram it would be to get the same amount would make it not worth it. If money isn't a problem then getting faster ram should add a few frames but you would only notice a big difference if you used the integrated graphics.

The amount of help you will get is neglagable.
4GB RAM works for most projects. 8GB is about the limit for current games.
The GPU (Graphics is more of a help) but that can't be changed.
"Skyrim" wants…
- Windows 7/Vista/XP PC (32 or 64 bit)
- Quad-core Intel or AMD CPU processor
- 4GB System RAM
- 6GB free HDD (Hard disk drive) space
- NVIDIA or AMD ATI video with 1GB RAM:
Nvidia GeForce GTX 260 or higher;
OR
ATI Radeon HD 4890 or higher
- DirectX 9.0c
DirectX compatible sound card
- Internet access for Steam activation

Nope, FPS in gaming is not determined by amount or type of RAM.

The RAM is adequate - the CPU and GPU are the weak area - I've never found Lenovo specs to be that brilliant.
