Is Lenovo laptop brand mostly good recommended or bad?

Three months ago mid January, i bought a brand new Lenovo 510S white laptop. I'm an IT student and i read somewhere that Lenovo is good but i was out in the sun with my laptop at Mid 20s degrees celcius yesterday and the day before for three hrs each day. This morning i was putting the charger in on the side and i noticed small cracks at the edge with a little piece of plastic broken off from the entrance of something like a USB port, it's not exactly a USB port but something goes in there such as an Ethernet cable. I looked around that and at the top of that corner, looks like the tiny corner has been melted. I was shocked as i didn't know this is happening to a laptop of £600, on top of that i've only had it for 3 months. I don't use it excessively as i have an iPad and a good mobile phone too, i was thinking it was the heat from being outside each time which melted the plastic back but the front of the laptop is made of metal(when you open it), I only use it for browsing and uni work.

So what other laptop brands are good so if this one doesn't last forever i could use that brand instead. I don't want Apple cos it might not be easy for me to use for programming, not really interested in Apple products anyway cos they seem expensive for nothing. I only chose this Lenovo cos it's average priced and i like the thin design and colour white. What do i do now? Although everything else such as charging port, USB, internal etc. Is working fine.

Lenovo is a very good computer it's related to Motorola and that was originally IBM Lenovo has a reputation of lasting longer than any other laptop and being more adorable if you're having problems you want to take it to a PC shop and find out why
