Is the Lenovo G70 a decent gaming laptop?

Ok, so, my problem is that I know absolutely nothing when it comes to laptops and tower computers. I want to buy a laptop, whoch will be my first, and for it to be used for playong games such as football manager and company of heroes. However i will also use it to browse the internet and log into social media. One i have had my eye on is the Lenovo G70. I have asked my mates if the specs look good and they have said it is great. It has 1TB of storage and comes with 4GB of Ram and can hold up to 16 GB of ram. It is fairly chewp which makes me wonder if because it is cheap does that make it bad? At the end of the day i justwant to know will it be able to run the games i want at a medium level.

No. The G70 is not a gaming laptop.

But it will work fine for the games you're looking to play on it. It's best to buy DELL or ASUS instead of Lenovo though

I would stay away from Lenovo because of the recent privacy violations they have been caught up in. A while back, they had the whole superfish scandal where they would install malware infused programs onto computers. After that was fixed, they recently got caught adding even more programs to peoples computers even after they did a fresh install of windows by installing it from outside of the operating system.
This is not good behavior. They are purposely going against what people want and trying to get their hands on your device in a way that can lead to you having even less privacy and being at risk of having your personal information stolen.

because of this, I do not recommend people buy Lenovo. BUT as for your needs, you can look for any laptop provided it has specs that meet your needs.
so to help understand a bit if the laptop has an Intel CPU, an Intel Core i3 is good for everyday use like internet browsing listening to music, watching movies, working on Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. An i5 will be a bit better at heavier stuff like multitasking. At this point you'll be good for medium gaming, and some slight media work like editing videos or making music.
an i7 will be the highest tier. These will be good for heavy gaming, 3d rendering, physics simulations, and other heavy applications.
for RAM, you can get by with 4 GB but 6 or 8 would be better. Unless you already know you'll need more, having more than 8 GB of RAM will typically be a waste as more RAM than what you need doesn't provide any more benefit.
the storage i guess is all personal really. Some people need a lot of storage, others don't. Use your own discretion on how much storage you currently use to decide if more or less is right for you.
if you can find one, a laptop with a dedicated graphics card will perform a lot better in games. These chips are made by Nvidia or AMD and will drastically improve gaming performance. For light to medium gaming they aren't required as the CPUs have a video chip built in.

knowing this, you can look for a laptop that fits your needs as best as possible.

and as for brand preference. I like Asus because of their reliability and quality records.
