Is the Lenovo Y50 a good gaming laptop?

I have been saving up for ages to buy a good laptop that can handle almost any game on high settings but I don't know anything about computers. I hardly even know what a graphics card is. So my question is, since my budget is around 1200 aus dollars, is a y50 or y510p powerful enough to run practically anything. Btwmill ONLY be using it for gaming.

Its a good gaming laptop but i i were you i would just look at some reviews for it. The experts rate it, but so far its a pretty good gaming laptop. But the experts say- "The Lenovo Y50 is a splendidly designed gaming laptop, but limited battery life and computing horsepower will leave hardcore gamers wanting more."
when you buy it make sure it is an i7 QUAD-CORE.

You can see a good video review of the GPU of this laptop here:

FPS vary between 30 and 60 fps. If you want steady 60 FPS you'll maybe need to lower graphics settings to medium, but that's true for many gaming PC. It will be hard to get better for your money, the Lenovo Y50 is a good choice. You can get a full review of a very similar laptop in specs here:
