Assuming that your Laptop is still under Warranty, the first thing you should do is take your laptop back to the store where you bought it, and let them figure out what is wrong.
Did you recently UPGRADE from Windows 8.0 to Windows 8.1?
If so, you should have mentioned that CRITICAL detail.
