Try getting the "Recommeded" Specs for the Game(s) you want to play and compare,
NO laptop under 3000 is a "gaming" machine.

No.

The graphics chip is what will determine it's gaming performance. Is it really a GTX 950 or a GTX 950m?
Either way, this list makes it a lot easier to compare GPUs:
http://videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html

Then look at the 'recommended' specs for the game on websites like Game Debate.

It has Windows 10…

You have a GTX 950M… Here's how it compares to a GTX 1050ti

Now GTA V recommends a GTX 660

Witcher 3 recommends a GTX 770

So-o-o-o-o-o-o… Your not playing those games on high. Or medium and you will struggle on low…
Look up you game on game debate, look at the video card specs, then in you browser search ( Example ) type in ( example )… Gtx 770 vs gtx 950m… Go to gpuboss…

I recommend getting a ssd instead of hdd, other than that it seems good enough for most games

So so

Hardware-wise, it's OK. Not great but not horrible.

Unfortunately it is a Lenovo. I've never had a Lenovo laptop last me more than 6 or 7 months. Seriously. My company uses them, and I've had 2 die on me (fried motherboard in both cases!) and after the HDMI port went out on the 3rd, I switched to Mac. I haven't even been at the company for 2 years.

Should be able to play 99% of modern games at either medium or higher settings.
