Laptop won't wake up unless I push the power button?

I've had my Lenovo Z510 for about four months now. When I had Windows 7 on it I didn't have any problems. I decided to upgrade to Windows 8.1 today and since then, whenever I close the lid on my laptop and open it again, the laptop won't open unless I push the power button.

Any help is appreciated.

Added (1). I meant that it won't turn on when I open the lid.

You need to go Control Panel / Power Options. You need to change settings- When lid closed instead Shut Down - to Hybernate.
