I have a Lenevo ideapad y510p with a haswell 4th gen i7 processor, 8gb RAM, 2gb Nvidia Geforce dedicated graphics card and 24bg ssd. So how would I install mavericks in virtual box? And how do i make all my components compatible with the osx? I have tried installing mountain lion and mavericks in virtual box before and it didn't work even after spending approximately 72 hours on it, so a detailed and complete walk-through would be greatly appreciated.

You must already know that, according to Apple's EULA, it is illegal to even try to install any version of OS X on any hardware other than Apple computers.
But, if you BUY an Apple computer, you can use the FREE BootCamp to legally install a full Retail, or OEM, version of Windows 7 (and maybe W 8) on your new Mac.
Or, use the free Virtual Box (Google search for it) to run W 7 inside OS X. And YouTube has video tutorials for both options.
