I have a ThinkVintage Lenovo Windows xp laptop. I use Google Chrome (thought Internet Explorer is still a program on my computer.) This morning I turned on my laptop and tried to open iTunes, but I got a small rectangular error window, saying that the Audio/Video wouldn't be able to operate properly. After some discussion and screen sharing with my sister, I got my audio on iTunes to work again (ad after downloading http://answers.microsoft.com/...4b71c1a1e5 again.) I check iTunes, yay, the sound works and the music plays! But don't hear Facebook Notifications or YouTube Videos. I use SoundMAX HD Audio.

Go into the audio settings, your speakers might be disabled, just right click and enable them, or just restart, one of those will fix the problem.
