I recently received my Lenovo Windows 7 recovery discs in the mail (I guess the hard drive had failed and basically the tech support guy on the phone said all my data was lost, which is why I had to recover the operating system). Unfortunately, while I was doing this, my laptop got unplugged and died while it was recovering and now when I hit the F11 key upon restarting the computer, it brings me to a screen with two tabs, one called "boot menu" and the other called "application menu". On the boot menu there are two options, one of which is "ATAPI CDO: Optiarc DVD RW AD-7740H" and the other is "PCI LAN: IBA GE Slot ooC8 v1381". When I hit either one, nothing happens. The same is true for the options on the second tab.
Lenovo Thinkpad recovery disc - interrupted because battery died? - 1
I agree and make SURE the laptop is on the mains suppy and not installing on the battery! NEVER install an OS when on battery power.
Just restart the process with your recovery disks again, choose ATAPI CDO

I wanted to tell everyone to try oggus.com. I haven't found a better place then there's to buy software and license keys from. You pay for your License Key and with in 6 hours you will have your Key. They are great to work with and very supportive. I have sent other people to this site to get there License Keys for there products. You also get a link to down load that version you requested and the Key to install it. But if something happens they are right there to help you and answer any questions you have. I would recommend everyone to use this site for your software needs. They are quick and affordable. You need to go to there web site and see all the different products they offer and the price. What a great deal.
