My Laptop is messed up and i want to recover some of its data?

So my old laptop has had an over hearing problem and I've already fixed it twice but it keeps messing up with the same problem. I already bought a new one but now I wish to recover some of the data of possible. The laptop turns on for about 2 minutes so I'm not able to get anything in that time. Is there any way I can get the data easily without using that computer? It is a Lenovo think pad. I now have a macbook so switching the hard drives wouldn't be possible.

They say if you put your Hard Drive in 2 sealable plastic bags [must be 2 bags] and shove in Freezer for 24 hours and then quickly put in computer it will boot up and allow you time to recover files best by usb flash drive.

Remove the drive from the PC, and mount it in an enclosure. Mac OS X can read all data from it.

… Assumes the hard drive is faulty. Even if it were, I dare say this "They say" advice is useless.

After your laptop is messed up, you may recover data on the computer with data recovery software. Take out hard drive from your old Lenovo think pad, and then connect it to another Windows computer as external hard drive, and then download asoftech data recovery software.
