My Lenovo ThinkPad R400 will not start up?

Added (1). It's stuck on the page that just says ThinkPad and underneath "To interrupt normal startup, press the blue ThinkAdvantage button" I've tried everything!

Other option is to format it, you have to have windows installer on a usb flash drive (make it bootable).
