Is this a problem anyone else has, and is there anything I can do about it? I'm not technically expert and would appreciate some simple guidelines.

My computer only crashes using IE rest of the browsers work great. I suggest you do a system recovery if that does not fix the issue I would have it look at the place where you bought it.
