University laptop? Which one is best?

So I will be heading off to Uni in a couple of weeks and require a laptop. My two choices are:

Lenovo Y50/70
OR
HP Spectre x360

Both are very different as one is an ultrabook, the other is a laptop. As I have no experience in Uni I don't know which one I will benefit from.
I will study a Computer Science course, for those wondering.
My primary intended use is obviously work, but after that it is anything else to occupy time.

The Lenovo is a powerful gaming/performance laptop. It is able to play the latest titles and perform very difficult tasks with ease (compared to the HP).
The HP on the other hand is light, has a much better keyboard for constant typing, better aesthetics and can convert into a tablet.

Please enlighten me on your experiences and recommendations. Thank you!

I'm headed off too. My goal is to get a Lenovo. My mom has one, and it works amazingly. If you're a computer science major, you would (to my knowledge at least) be working with some pretty powerful software, correct? And in your question you say that a Lenovo is a "powerful gaming/performance laptop."

You also mentioned that HPs are light. Lenovos aren't TOO heavy… At least in my opinion, but they definitely have a tad bit of weight on it.

You say an HP can be converted into a tablet. Even though that's cool, is it constructive? Same with aesthetics… I've never used a HP keyboard, so I can't really speak on that.

Overall… I think you should get the Lenovo.
