What are some of the best laptops besides MacBook?

I currently own a 2010 MacBook Pro that has started to show temporary dead pixels on the screen and the configuration is probably outdated or will be in the next couple of years. I also have no idea how long the laptop is going to last.

I guess I bought this for $1400 at the time and do not wish to spend so much of money again on a laptop.

Added (1). Btw, I use my laptop only for listening to music, watching movies, surfing the internet, and occasional photo and video editing.

What are some of the alternatives? MacBook Air.

Or Windows business laptops like Lenovo ThinkPad or Dell XPS. They might have more power than you really need, but they are built to be sturdier than the cheaper consumer laptops. Their basic configurations cost less than a MacBook though the maxed out versions can be just as pricy. You can use this laptop till it becomes haywire or you could sell this for money and get a MacBook Air or the 13 inch MacBook instead in the future. $700-800 isn't much for an Apple laptop.

Windows laptop sucks. They do not hold charge for a long time and you often get viruses and all types of malware into your system. Better stick with Mac Surface Book. Dell alienware or 7000 series are best
