What's a good Laptop that performs like a MacBook Air?

Basically, I'm looking for a Laptop, I've gone through a hell of a lot websites and reviews but there are so many brands! One website favors one brand and the other one another one. I'm basically lost.

Apple seems to be best followed by Lenovo.

I want a Laptop that
- Goes fast
- the text is still visible when the sun shines on the screen
- has a super long battery life, 9 hours at least
- doesn't heat up too fast
- is reliable, like it will last for at least 5 years and good
- doesn't weigh much
- has a nice design and very portable
- doesn't cost a fortune

I have to use it for work, I will be taking it every day, the whole day with me and I will mainly write on it and go on websites on it. I like Apple because it has a lot of extras, but if there's a Laptop that is of better quality, I will def buy the other one.

Your question totally shows its a girl asking it. Like i want a good laptop or i want a pink laptop…

I'm not so expert but You want a fast laptop for what? Like you are going to use it for an engineering program or you just want the ordinary softwares work fast witout bugs.
If you care about the ordinary softwarea you should care about the RAM on that laptop, all of the recent CPUs manufacturered are enough for it.

I don't know if they are using any new technology recently for sunshine but choose the screens that looks like a glass not like the old LCD screens, there are many kinds if you want a good quality look for the highest ppi(pixle per inch) and the graphic card's memory is the less important. Choose a full hd laptop at least.
The battery will also depend on your usage type but i guess it was measured by mAh, the highest the better
Reliability depends on the brand you choose, asus, dell, lenovo… Are good. Don't choose sony vaio.

How much are you looking to spend? Do you want Windows 8? Just an FYI… If you can afford it, get at least an i7 Quad core processer with a minimum of 8 gig memory…16 gig is better and you'll be happier with it longer. I just looked… And saw a decent one for about 600 euro…15.6" under 5 pounds.
