As far as the brands you listed, they are really all about the same, and mostly comes down to a matter of personal preference. ASUS, and MSI are both really solid, and Alienware is backed by a pretty good parent company. I would skip the Lenovo. In reality the best gaming laptop manufacturer is Razor with the Razor Blade and Razor Blade Pro, but the cheapest model starts around $1500. The most important things to pay attention to when looking for any gaming computer are Graphics Card (GPU) power/memory, and Processing (CPU) power/speed. Do a comparison between the specs. Of the laptops you are interested in compared to the prices and see what comes out best. Also, you would be a LOT better off spending the $1200 on building a desktop instead of an off the shelf laptop.

I'm a fan of Asus: you get a lot for what you pay for and they're dependable laptops. The only con is that they don't sell off their website, so you have to go through third party sellers. It's not too bad, but sometimes it makes it harder to find a specific model.

Lenovos are pretty good, but a little overpriced.

skip alienware and razer: you're paying hundreds more for LEDs.

haven't had much experience with MSI, but people seem to like them.

if you're looking for a place to buy, check out newegg. However, if you're willing to shell out 1200 dollars, consider buildling your own pc. You can get a high-end PC with that much instead of a laptop that's a fraction of that performance. You might even be able to get it for a little less, then use the money you saved for a decent laptop for when you do need the mobility.

Only look at MSI the others are all a joke when they try did compete in the gaming area, they cheap out in some parts so stick with MSI. Alienware is a rip off, ASUS is LOL, Sony meh, Toshiba has good parts but shell is fragile so avoid same with charging port inside laptop. But as said above build your own PC its not hard all you need to do is youtube how to build a PC, since you have 1200 budget stick with AMD, try to get a GPU with 2GB + and try to get a sapphire GPU you can go for nivida but the price jumps
