2) Asus X556UB-XX016T, Intel 6th Gen Core i7, 4GB RAM, 1TB HDD, nVidia GF940 2GB, Win10
I will mainly use it for work (graphic designing) and some occasional gaming (nba 2k16).
thanks in advance. There should be a better choice available in the Philippines, where I expect you are located. The issues and comparison can't be seen by what you present, but instead have to look for other information. The MSI is a much stronger CPU, and they both have equivalent graphics performance, and in that they are only at a Geforce (GT) 940M level, it doesn't matter much in gaming that the MSI CPU is much stronger.
You state the main use is GRAPHICS DESIGNING. Therefore, they BOTH need a better external display. BOTH are only 1366x768, and MSI used one with washed out color, where also Asus chose a substandard one, with less reported data. Asus has degraded in ratings lately as seen from newegg.com customers in the USA.
The MSI has i7-5700HQ, a quad core CPU https://www.cpubenchmark.net/...u_list.php Benchmark at 8581 The i7 of the Asus is i7-6500u. That is a dual core i7 scoring only 4355. CPU is half-speed.
You would expect the Asus to have a great battery life, but I'm shocked and surprised they reduced the battery to a 38 Watt Hour 2 cell.
MSI review:
Your most important feature is the display when doing graphics design work, and both use a sub-standard one. https://www.facebook.com/...0697939270 They also both need another 4GB of ram. I can't tell whether there's an open slot, or the 4GB needs replacing.
Shopping in the Philippines is difficult (or a similar location to have these models)
If you can raise your price, you can get a great laptop: http://www.villman.com/Product-Detail/MSI_GP62_6QE_294PH P 49,992.00 with MSI Backpack, Steelseries Kinzu Mouse and MSI Keyring PVC That I think is 8000 more money That gets the quad core i7 in 6th gen, an IPS Panel 1920x1080 display, and a GTX 950M much stronger graphics card, and improved audio, and a better keyboard. The 940M is rank 151 and GTX 950M at rank 76 http://www.notebookcheck.net/...849.0.html
I looked at the offerings at villman.com, and know you are trying to keep spending down. If cost is the issue, http://www.villman.com/Product-Detail/Lenovo_80N60007PH The Lenovo Yoga 500 has the GT 940M, a good display, seems to include touchscreen and a flip mode on the screen, i5-5200U at 3514 is only 23% below the Asus you are looking at, and won't bottleneck the GT 940M anyway.
It is difficult to shop for you from Las Vegas, but my advice is not to buy either of what you are looking at and find an IPS 1920x1080 display laptop with at least a GT 940M graphics card. If you find anything, you can email me if you set up to accept email, and a thumbs-up or Best Answer has me review this for your update.
I offer you one that costs more and is much better than what you found, and one that should cost less, and though CPU is weaker, it has the display for your graphics work. With only 4GB RAM they both kinda suck, but the 6th Gen i7 is better than the other laptop. Upgrade the memory to 8GB if you are buying it. Here's the specs for both processors…
