Which is the better laptop for me?

I'm going to be going to college soon and I don't know which laptop to get…

I'm debating between the Lenovo IdeaPad Z400 Touch and the Dell Inspiron 15z (I15Z-4801SLV).
(Here's is the comparison article I was looking at http://www.pcmag.com/...90,00.asp)

I'd like to use it for obvious college things (papers, email, internet, etc. Etc. ) but I also need it for three non-college related things; 1) I'm a budding YouTuber and need to run a decent video editing software 2) I play minecraft in my freetime when I'm bored and don't want to lose that and 3) I Really wanna get Sims 4 but that's not as important.

So which should I get? Or are both equal? Or should I not get either?

I would go with the Lenovo. I had never had any Lenovo products until about 2 years ago. You will actually be surprised at how well the preform and how well they are made compared to other computers in the same price range. I have recommended Lenovo products to all my family and friends and every one was glad they chose Lenovo. I have no association or affiliation with them in any way, I just love their products.

I think you will be happy with choosing the Lenovo. I have PC's and tablets and I'm very happy with them. I also have a daughter who is going away to college and I just bought her a new Lenovo Touchscreen Laptop and she loves it. She does everything on it from gaming to all kinds of word processing and things like that. I highly recommend choosing the Lenovo.

Did a comparison for you via CPUBoss on the Processors:
http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Core-i7-3537U-vs-Intel-Core-i5-3230M

The i5 (Lenovo) beats the i7 (Dell) on every test that is relevant to your usage, with single CPU core performance (rendering) and GPU clock speeds (gaming). It also had a higher mark on every 3D benchmark, thus proving it is better for graphically intense work.

The lenovo is designed as a desktop replacement, meaning it will be a bit faster than a general purpose laptop (the dell). Since you will be doing graphically intense work such as video editing and gaming with minecraft (possibly Sims 4 this fall) then I'd get the lenovo.

Also. Just a side note, both laptops I'm sure will be able to run sims 4, they reduced the graphics and optimized the game this time (not one huge world running at the same time either), it won't be like sims 3.

Both will be able to handle your college related things, I wouldn't worry about it.
