Which Laptop is better

I want to buy a laptop and I can't really know which should I go with. Should I buy a
Lenovo G50-70 with specifications. Specs: Processor: Intel Core i7 4510U - 2.0Ghz Ram: 6GB Graphics Card: AMD Radeon R5 230M Screen: LED - 1366x768 - 15.6 Inches Windows 8

OR

Lenovo Z500 with Specifications like:
Specs:

Processor: Intel Core I5 3230M
CPU: 2.6 GHZ - Turbo Boost (3.20 GHZ)
Ram: 4GB - Can be upgraded to 8 GB
Graphics Card: Nvidia GT740M
Display: 15.6 INCHES
Windows 8

Now I want to know which laptop is better for surfing internet, watching movies, smoother and gaming. I do not want to play games on ultra, I focus on gaming on consoles more. I just want gaming for games like The Sims, things that are exclusive for PC. So which one should I get? No price different, only 20 dollars. Not a big deal, and which one has a better life span?

Both sound quality, the life span usually is affected by how much you use the product compared to how good the quality of the product actually is. Though getting either would hardly make a difference. The decision you have to make is having a slightly worse (only very slight I have a 3rd-Gen i5 and have used an i7 never saw any difference) compared to having possibly 4GB more of RAM. The i5 can also be overclocked (I assume this is what you mean by 'Turbo Boost'?) And personally I believe Nvidia graphics cards are better quality, but both are still very good.
Honestly buying either would do the job more than well enough for what you want it for, as by the sounds of it you could run games and programs at a much higher rate than many computers. But I would go with the Z500 purely because of overclocking.
Just in advance if you get a computer with Windows 8 and the popup for a update for Windows 8.1 comes up, just click ignore, Windows 8.1 is horrific and causes so many un-needed problems.

Z500 is way better…

Z500 is a better series
CPU performance is the same within report variation:
http://www.cpubenchmark.net/...u_list.php
Core i5-3230M @ 2.60GHz score 3958
Core i7-4510U @ 2.00GHz score 3984
You do not overclock a laptop, and they both have turbo boost.

R5 M230 is rank 233
GT 740M is rank 119 as much better

The 6GB is a mismatched 4+2GB. The 4GB should be a single stick and can be upgraded
You need a match by SODIMM, Voltage, speed, CAS, but is $35 to $40 to go to 8GB for either one.

If batteries are the same size, the G50-70 should have a little longer life. G50-70 has a 4 cell 32 watt hour.
Z500 has a 4 cell 41.6 Watt hour, so should run longer on a charge. It appears that the G50-70 has an external battery pack and Z500 appears to have an enclosed internal battery.

Z500 is better in gaming. They are similar in performance. Z500 generally gets a better review.
