So my laptop is like $400 Lenovo, its not super expensive. The cord is very short and i have tripped over it several times and the laptop fell on the ground after i tripped. The laptop does not appear to be damaged and i see no cracks yet. But now when i open the laptop, i hear a crack sound on the right side of the hinge, so what do i do? There's no visible damage yet, but i have had this issue several times with laptops when there would be a cracking noise when its opened and then the hinge begins to crack eventually.
Why do i hear a cracking noise whenever i open my laptop

You can't repair a hinge by yourself, just open it gently and push against the right hinge with your hand, keeping the screen in a straight line with the computer's upper edge.
And try to not trip over the power cord another time, I know these are short, but extension cords are way more cheaper than a damaged computer.
