Why is this laptop so cheap?

I found this laptop on amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/...00J9RTGGO/

it cost's a little over 1200, but if you configure the same laptop on lenovo's site, it cost's over 1600. What are the doing that's bringing the price so low? I want to get it, but, you know, if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

Lenovo's website lists the retail price for buying one system at a time. Wholesale pricing to retailers is below what they same item retails for. Frequently retailers get further discounts from manufacturers for buying in bulk or paying in cash.

Assuming the seller of this item obtained it legitimately, they are selling the same system for a lower profit margin than Lenovo is.

I wouldn't say that the laptop is cheap. Its cheaper then what you would get from lenovos website because some joe schmo is reselling it on amazon.

You could get an i7 laptop with 16gb ram and a better gpu and a ssd cache for around the same price. The only difference that is pushing the price of that i5 up is probably windows 7 pro loaded on it and a 3-year depot warranty.

Maybe it just looks good from the showing picture. If you r really moved by the price, just get one, after all returning service of amazon is not too bad.

U r right but amazon is trustworthy you can return it if anything doesn't came up as written
