Why won't my bios recognize my USB dvd drive?

How do I get my Bios to recognize my usb dvd drive? Its recognized by windows but not bios. So why doesn't my bios recognize it? The bios recognizes my usb hard drive, but not the usb dvd drive.

The dvd drive I'm using is portable dvd writer model SE-208. The laptop I'm using is lenovo y510p.

Added (1). I can't get it to read usb dvd drive first because it doesn't show up in the list of hardware in the bios. And USB legacy support is already enabled.

I'm not sure I understand your question. When you say the BIOS does not recognize your USB, what are you attempting to do?

It could be that you simply need to go into the BIOS and enable the USB Legacy Support.

Have you changed the setting in the setup of your computer or laptop? You should make it read USB first then harddisk. Also updating your bios is very helpful.

You likley need to update your bios off the manufactures website
