I have a question about creating installation media for windows without the discs available. Back in 2011, I purchased a Lenovo x230 laptop, I had wanted to buy an SSD for it for so long, but never really got around to it until now. Unfortunately, I do not have any known way of setting a new OS on the SSD, as the OS on my Lenovo came factory installed, and it doesn't even have an optical drive. Are there any other ways of getting around this and somehow installing a working version of windows perhaps through a thumb drive? There's a recovery partition on my laptop that might include some windows setup files, but I'm not even sure that would work. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

You could buy an external optical drive they are cheap as chips these days.
