Lenovo Y710 Ram Upgrade?

Current Specs:
Lenovo Y710…
450W Power Supply
Intel Core I7 6700 3.4Ghz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080
16GB DDR4 2133MHz
128GB SSD 1TB HDD…

So, I know a thing or two about computers but not much more than that… I've had this little machine for a bit over a year now. The GPU is still fairly top notch for gaming today so no problem there. This system definitely seems under-powered with the 450W power supply as NVIDIA recommends at least a 500W supply, however it seems to run fine with no issues. My main question obviously is the RAM. I know depending on someone's use for the computer it can change. I'm really only gaming on the computer, so I know the GPU is responsible for most of that. Is the RAM worth upgrading to say Corsair Vengeance 2x8GB 3000MHz? Am I really going to see any difference with gaming? Also I'm not really familiar with Static RAM vs Dynamic RAM, should I pick one over the other? Assuming that the 450W power supply will be fine as well considering that I don't believe RAM takes a lot of Watts?

Static RAM is the best choice! Read this: <<<<< >>>>> Also, I'd upgrade that Power Supply to at least a 750W. In my mind it doesn't make much sense to build a computer these days with anything less than 750 or 800W. I say that because you're already looking to upgrade your hardware so who knows what you'll want to do next and a 750W should take care of any upgrades you do. Hope this helps!

There's a possibility your motherboard may not even support RAM speeds higher than 2133 MHz. Usually name branded PCs are configured to run a specific way.

In any case, for gaming you'll notice virtually no difference between 2133MHz and 3000 MHz.

Generally speaking, Static RAM is faster and more expensive, and it's usually only used in stuff like CPU Cache. All RAM you buy off the shelf is Dynamic RAM, or DRAM.

So are you actually experiencing any issues with it? What is the reason behind asking?
The 450W does seem (very) slightly low, but if it's a decent enough brand, should be adequate.
for an off the shelf build, it's unlikely you'll be able to to put ram that fast in it - check the motherboard make/model and check to see what is max. The ram upgrade is unlikely to affect performance much at all.
Without an indicator to say what it is about the system you're unhappy with it's difficult to suggest anything really.
Is your CPU at 100% on some cores while gaming? GPU maxing out?
I certainly wouldn't be looking at RAM for performance increase in that system anyway. (16GB is way plenty for gaming too)
