I have a Lenovo Yoga 13. Don't say anything about downloading the right drivers because I do that repeatedly. My computer says those are already installed on my pc but my cam never shows up… It always says "please install a camera." So it acts like it never had one in the first place. I downloaded the drivers from Lenovo's site but again, that never works. Is it a hardware issue or can I fix it another way besides downloading the right drivers, which don't even appear in my Device Manager? Is there any software out there that you can use to fix your cam yourself if it isn't working? If not, the manufactures seriously need to create one, it would be super helpful in this type of situation… But yeah… Any advice (besides downloading the drivers) to get my webcam working again?
Lenovo Yoga 13: Webcam isn't working?
You mention… Don't even appear in my Device Manager… So I gather in device manager you do not see any where a web cam existing…
Several things can happen…1… The web cam is bad…2… A failure on the motherboard…3… Motherboard drivers need to be reinstalled ( doing this will make sure the motherboard driver had not gotten corrupted )…4… The camera cable came loose or is bad…5… Windows needs to be repaired.
Also did this just occur ( the camera was working before and now it is not )… Then I would also run " system restore "… Eh-h-h-h it's a long shot but it may do the trick…
After all this… The only thing left is to do a " repair " of windows… NOT a format / reinstall ( that will erase / delete all your stuff… But do a " repair " of windows… You can google example… Windows 8 repair… Follow all that needs to be done…
If after that… You'll know that windows is in excellent shape… Your motherboard drivers are in excellent shape. Only thing left… The camera went bad or the cable that connects the camera to the motherboard went bad… Or-r-r where the cable connects to the motherboard went bad.
Heck it might just be a bad / loose camera cable…
