Windows XP New Router confusion?

My friend is having weird issues with her new Comcast router. It connects to the Wi-Fi but won't load new pages, that is, pages not in it's history. It loads older pages though. When a new page is tried it errors, says Connection has been reset. Her other household products work, including smartphones and a macbook. Thoughts on this?

That is for the ethernet driver, the wired lan cable, that is not the one for Wi-Fi.
If that is the only one it lists then the problem is that you don't have a Wi-Fi driver.

Also you need to check for new drivers then what you have. If the computer is OEM (dell, hp, lenovo, etc) AND it came with Wi-Fi then you need to go to the OEMs website under support for your specific computer and see if they have a newer driver version. If the Wi-Fi card was added to the system then you need to go to the website of the maker of the Wi-Fi card and find their driver page (often you can just google the make and model of the card and the word driver and the link will be the first or second one). Check the XP for Malware/proxy or if it is setup for proxy settings.

Ping the well know address "ping 8.8.8.8", if that works and browser doesn't then you are online and something is whacked with your browser. If the ping fails, then you aren't online for some reason.
