Should I buy a 2 in 1 with an intel atom processor?

I'm currently in college and have a lenovo i5 laptop that I use. It is a little big and I was thinking to get a smaller device on which I could do note taking, word procesing, powerpoint, online homework etc so i wouldnt have to carry it around.

I don't want to spend more than $300 so I was looking for suggestions from people on what I should buy. Will an atom processor due the job or should i just avoid it?

Side note: I'm more interesting in 2 in 1 laptops where the screen undocks from the keyboard.

I looked at the lenovo miix 320 and Asus transformers but there are some processing issues with it.

Atom is slow

You're going to find that that Atom Processor is snail slow go on eBay and look up all in ones if you plan on doing work with it that's fine but don't even dream of doing games on an all-in-one it just won't do it and it won't last very long
