Why do people love Apple?

A lot of people seem to love their apple products. I feel like this made sense at one point in time, but now windows and google have comparable operating systems.
If it was to come down to hardware, compact design, and build quality -companies like Samsung, Lenovo and Microsoft Surface offer more for your money.
Another viable option would be usability but Apple has never owned the majority of the market in work places and in 2014, Apple lost it's majority market share in American schools.
Despite all these facts, iPhone is still the number one selling phone, and Apple is the fith best selling computer brand since 2015.

Anyways, I've owned Macs and iPhones and I can't wrap my head around how so many people are loyal Apple fans. I do admit that they have the best trackpads in the market, and they have the simplest shopping experience but I feel that is not enough to justify purchasing one. What do you love about Apple? The ecosystem? A particular app that work's better? The ability to dual-boot windows? The finder system? Help me gain insight into the mind of an apple fanboy

Android is better. No need Apple products.

Apple is cool. People are prepared to pay a lot for cool. You can buy comparable kit for a quarter of the price - but it's not cool. The same people pay over the odds for branded trainers when ones from the same factory, but without the logo, are on sale in Walmart for a quarter of the price.

Apple has done a good job of branding themselves and creating an entire environment which, once you're in it, is not quick or easy to switch out of. It's a personal preference which UI you like better. Personally, I don't like the closed system that apple offers. They control everything and technically own pretty much all your data. I'm always surprised at the ignorance of this.

Brand loyalty. For a VERY long time, Apple products were much more reliable and usually came out with actually useful new capabilities before other companies. That makes "fanboys" comfortable that Apple will continue to be the innovation and quality leader -- and they are willing to pay for it.

Other people have valid reasons for loving other products. People who want to program on their phones love Android products. People who were first introduced to Microsoft/Windows computer tend to be equally loyal to them -- even if they have never tried an Apple product.

I find Apple (IPhone) is easier to use, it's all most intuitive, iPhone has a good camera, also there's more and better apps and accessories available for IPhone.
They've also done a good job with marketing they're brand and designing their phones… Who ever hasn't heard of an IPhone has been living under a rock or in a coma for a very long time.
I've had both android and Iphone, but I just like my IPhone better then any phone I've had.

It's a status thing. Those who purchase Apple products tend to be more focused on themselves. Many want others to think that they have a lot of money (even though they don't.) They don't care that the minerals in these products are the cause of wars in some parts of the world and contribute to the exploitation of impoverished children and adults. Look it up before you start arguing.

Image and advertising. They are no better than microsoft. They used to be, but not any more
