My Lenovo G555 laptop from 2011 was two and a half years old when the video chip detached from the motherboard. Found out on Google search this was common failure. Two repair attempts did not last. Now trying a replacement motherboard.

Yes, mine have lasted for a couple of years now without any major problems.
