Have a 3 kva off grid home solar system with inverter that produces 240v 60hz constant power… Do I need a power supply for my desktop lenovo M58P… Don't like adding unnessary electric burden onto my system.

Not sure what you mean "power supply". The laptop probably needs about 19V DC to charge, otherwise the battery will run down in a couple of hours.
If you have 12V DC from the solar system you may be better to get a car-type universal supply rather than convert to 240V AC and then back down to 19VDC in two stages using the stock power supply (usually rated 90-250V AC 50/60Hz)
Otherwise, from what I've read recently DC-DC converters are now very efficient, but I have no idea if you can easily get one to convert say 48VDC to 19VDC.
