My computer turns on by itself, even when I have fully shut it down?

Hey i'm really worried that my conputer turns on by itself, this worries me because I'm thinking that this could be a hacker potentially that is turning our computer on, so they can look through our camera, i'm hoping this is just a fault or a glitch with the computer, but I'm very worried this could be a hacker? Has anyone had this issue, and if so what was the cause? And how did you fix it?

I have a large touchscreen lenovo computer.

Could possibly be a hacker, not known for a PC or Laptop to turn on after being turned off unless its malware software. Back up the PC/Laptop and wipe it clean. Should sort the problem.

Get into the bios and turn off the "Boot From LAN' and/or "Auto On" option. There's some code coming down the cable which is turning on your computer.

A hacker can't gain access to your computer unless it is on. There's no malware or virus that can do this. The reason for this is that malware and viruses exist on the hard drive, which at the time of your problem is 'spun down' and shut off. There's no way to access software on a hard drive when it is off.

Not likely an hacker, most likely the BIOS are not set correctly, Do NOT play with the BIOs if you are a novice!
If you know what you'r doing chose "setup defaults" in the last option & save.

Well to start throw that ******* computer out a window cause that's no computer that thing has been waiting your entire life to eat you while you're asleep you should fear it with your life be careful it's a warzone out there.

The BIOS may have an auto wake at a set time /day or wake on LAN this can be changed in power management settings in the BIOS

Mine did the same thing. It was an older Dell windows 7. It would even turn on when I was asleep. I thought what you are thinking. I took it to the shop and was told it was the 'mother board'. So, I just bought a new tower. Now all is fine.

A hacker can't turn on a computer unless it is connected to the network cable. Unplug it when you are not using it.

My dad has always had the same issue with his Gateway PC. We've no idea what causes it, and it always seems to be late at night, and even when it's not connected to the internet so it can't even be the internet causing it.

If you go into the BIOS there are a few options it could be - there's one for Wake On LAN which sometimes if it's connected to the internet via Ethernet that can trigger a wake-up scenario and make the computer wake up. There's also sometimes options for how you want the computer to wake up - like by any key press, or power button only or as yours has a touch screen there might even be an option for wake on touch - it could be set to wake on touch and it's detecting just a tiny speck of dust as a touch and turning on - or even a defect on the touch screen that's sending false readings.
