Should I return my gaming laptop for a desktop?

I have recently just bought a Lenovo Ideapad Y700-17, with very good specifications.

Intel Core i7 @2.6gh
Nvidia GeForce GTX 960M
16GB of DDR4 ram

and I think the rest of the **** doesn't matter.

However, I can definitely run most games, if not every game, however not at ultra settings which I don't feel is necessary to run it at ultra settings anyhow.

I do like to mod my games a little bit, and I'm sure my computer can handle it as I can run GTAV at 60fps or more on medium settings.

Long story short; I paid $1,538.99 for this laptop, and do you think the mobility is worth it? Sometimes I just enjoy sitting in my bed playing games, as I don't like to sit at my desk too much unless I'm using a wheel.

Is a desktop really worth the return of the laptop?

Yes, a desktop, it can have more memory and is much more customizable.

A desktop system that you build yourself is guaranteed to be cheaper than a "gaming laptop" - it is almost guaranteed to last longer, and if you do decide to spend $1,500 on the desktop, you'll be able to make something that outperforms the laptop you have currently.

I don't think the mobility is worth it. If you want to game from your bed. Get something like a 45" 1080p HDTV and use that as the monitor. Also wall mount it and use a wireless keyboard, mouse and controller. Then your setup will be real clean. Just a keyboard and mouse on your desk, no cords or monitor.

You could build a cube style desktop so that it takes up less space and tucks neatly on a shelf under your desk.

The desktop can be faster, quieter and have a bigger screen. If you want something to carry around to browse the internet and check e-mail just get a cheap Android Tablet or Kindle Fire. Yea I know the Kindle is Android but it is heavily modified.

Yes. Laptops can't compare to a good gaming desktop.

I agree that desktops easily outperform laptops dollar for dollar - only you can decide whether the portability and convenience makes up the difference in price
What makes you think you can return it? In the UK once you have used it you can't simply return it for a full refund. The seller would be left with a used laptop and wouldn't be able to resell it as new

Yes, of course! http://happywheelsfreak.com/
