I have a Lenovo Yoga 720 15-IKB, the model WITHOUT the GTX 1050 graphics card. I would like to know if it supports an eGPU e.g the Akitio Node thunderbolt 3 eGPU.

With the USB 3.1 to Thunderbolt 3 connector, you should be able to use these together - make sure that you use the USB 3.1 port though as it'll work substantially better than the USB 3.0 connectors!

Most laptops don't support eGPU because they're not designed for gamers. Same story with the Yoga 720 - it's a work/luxury machine - even if it had TB3, the BIOS wouldn't recognize or pick up the eGPU.
