My Lenovo Chromebook broke to the point where i couldn't even turn it on, I have a new hp Chromebook but I've lost all my files that i saved to that one (4000, all pretty important image files) and i thought they'd save onto the cloud so that whichever chromebook i logged into after that, i could regain the files instantly but apparently not. How does it actually work? Can i ever get the files back from my broken chromebook without external storage? It isn't working because water ruined the inside so i can't just briefly go on it and transfer them onto a hard drive then into the new computer or something, is there any other way?
How to transfer files from broken chromebook to new chromebook?
There are data recovery companies that can help, but they were expensive when I last checked.
Long gone. In this new one, set your photo saving so that it saves it in the cloud and not the laptop, good luck.
You are correct chrome books should save documents to google drive. Log into your new chromebook/google drive with the same login details as your old chromebook, hopefully your documents should be there.
If your old chromebook did only save documents to its internal storage/hard drive, then your only hope is to remove the internal hard drive where it would be a relatively simple job to connect it to your new laptop using a SATA-USB cable.
If your old chromebook had onboard solid state storage soldered to the motherboard then you would need to send the laptop to a data recovery company.
I think someone switched my Chromebook with a broken one. Is there a way to check thecomputer to see if it was mine
