I have a lenovo laptop with switchable graphics option,
AMD R7 M265 & intel HD graphics 4600,
some games like COD MW have a dual video card option,
so if I run that option will they work together or it is only for SLI and crossfire cards?
if not is there a way to run them at the same time for some heavy games?

No, you can only run one video card at a time. If you have an external video connector, it will be driven by the "current" video card.

Not possible yet, but DirectX 12 may utilize both gpu and cpu to its fullest potential.

You can run them together (its not pretty and will cause lots of issues) but they won't get extra performance… Crossfire and sli ARE NOT compatible…
there's no way to get extra performance from 2 different cards like this
