My lenovo b50-70 has i3 4030u and hd4400
and another variant of the same model has i5 4200u and gt820m/r5 m230
so can i upgrade to those specs by replacing these components on the motherboard from a shop?
this would give a big boost in performance

You would be better of selling that laptop and buying one that is upgraded to what you want. It's almost impossible to find CPUs and GPUs for laptops that are sold individualy, because they are all sold to the OEM. And if you do find one or the other they will be very expensive. There's also a chance that your CPU may be soldered to the motherboard.

Curious… Google that i5 4200u… Do you see anyone selling them… I didn't think so… So guess what… They are sold only to the manufactures…
