Gaming Laptop Comparison: Lenovo Y50 vs ASUS F550JK which is better?

I need a laptop for school work and maybe a bit of gaming. It is not that I'm a hardcore gamer who wants to play Battlefield 4 in the highest quality. I'm going to university soon and I would like a really strong (But not too big) laptop with me which can game if I want it to. So a lot of ram and space and good speeds.

I have currently a Lenovo and I really like it. I don't know much about ASUS so I need some help. Also some computer experts here could tell me more about the difference between these laptops and suggest which one to buy

If you can afford it, go for the Lenovo one, because:
- Bigger Hard Disk Drive (750 GB vs 1 TB)
- More RAM (4 GB vs 16 GB)
- Better graphics card (GTX 850m vs GTX 860m)
- DVD writer vs DVD player
- Backlit keyboard vs. Regular keyboard

The comparison link does not seem to work for me, and I can't see all the components from the other links. I can find the full specs of the Lenovo Y50 but not the Asus F550JK, but what I can see I can easily say the Lenovo Y50 is better.

For gaming laptops, the most important component is usually the graphics card. The Y50 has the 860M compared to the 850M, obviously the 860M is better. The Y50 has more ram 16 GB vs 8 GB.

I can't tell which model Y50 you are looking at, but it may also have an SSD which will provide a tremendous performance increase; I can't see if the Asus has one.
