I would try to find something with an Intel Core i5 and 8GB of ram, a 7200 RPM Hard Drive and optionally a 1GB Nvidia or AMD graphics card. $700 or less is reasonable to expect. (Don't get one with a touchscreen unless you really really want that, though. Touchscreens add a lot to the price.)
My personal advice, learn all of the basic components of a computer. You'll end up making a better buying decision if you understand what everything does and why you might want more of something than something else for specific tasks. Google is your best friend.
To reiterate, here are the specs I suggest you look for/look into
- Intel Core i5 or i7 processor. I5 should be sufficient for your needs but if you can afford an i7, the better the better. Don't get an i3.
- 8GB of RAM (6 should be fine as well, but RAM isn't very expensive and more is better. Don't get 4.)
- 1GB graphics card from Nvidia, AMD or ATI. You want this if you plan to game. Intel HD graphics itsn't terribly great.
- Make sure the hard drive is 7200 RPM. 5400 RPM is not good for what you want to do.
- I advise you get a better screen resolution than 1366x768, which is standard on many laptops. This is more important than a touch screen. Try to go 1600x900 or 1920x1080, even if it means getting a larger screen (like 17"). 1366x768 is good for most tasks, but since you plan to do video editing and gaming, more resolution goes a long way there.
Basically, research into the specifications I listed above. If you take all that into consideration you will buy just the computer you need. For stuff this expensive, it's good to do good research.
To best do this, on the given computer company's website, find a laptop you can customize before buying. Most companies let you do this before buying them from their websites. This is the best way to go for buying laptops. Try not to use third-party sites. Get laptops directly from the company that makes them, since you can very nicely customize them to fit exactly what you need that way.
