I just started college and I want to purchase a Windows laptop. I'm planning to major in computer science. I currently have 2 online classes. I will be using the laptop for school purposes (online class, typing essays, research, etc) and entertainment purposes (YouTube, Netflix, etc). I've been looking at Lenovo and Dell laptops, so those would be preferred. Also, I would need something that's portable (around 13" screen). Budget is anything below $1,000 (can be $200 more at the most).
Good PC laptop for college?

The new chromebooks have everything that a student would need, including what you need it for. Also, it is very fast and does not lag or take a long time loading. They are also pretty cheap!

Here's my suggestion.

I had this laptop for 2 years and it was AMAZING! Great processor, good graphics for video watching and just a very, very stable laptop. I suggest getting the refurbished one.

On the contrary, the Chromebook doesn't offer much. There's no OS and it can't run as much programs as any laptop would. A quick Google search would help you find options.
