When I first got the laptop it worked perfectly and I played games without any problems but a few months ago there were flickering pixels of varying colors (usually depending on the color of the background of the game). They are only on objects that you could interact with in some way (say they sky background and different menus in the game look fine, but an object that you can pick up or your own visible self is pixeled out). Any idea what this might be? And if it's an issue with the graphics card can I replace it?
Graphical issue when gaming on Lenovo Y400?

Probably just a driver coding issue causing artifacts. It is somewhat common. My GPU will have artifacts on some games and not others. It can be cleared up with the right driver. Try rolling your driver back from device manager. Or revert to your original driver if you have a driver disc that came with the laptop.
You can use the one from Lenovo or the one from AMD or Nvidia.
Try different drivers. It will probably resolve with one of them.
It an also be from Game Patches. Check for new Patches.
