Lenovo p500 white screen issue?

I got my Lenovo p500 two Christmases ago, and for the past few weeks the screen will randomly go completely white. I tried asking on the Lenovo forums but haven't gotten any response. I have searched around on the internet and I've found that it could be overheating, a screen problem, or a graphics problem. I tried cleaning my fan and bought a cooling mat for it. And I just tried taking the screen apart to see if the cable was loose and it doesn't seem to be to me but I have never done this before so I don't know. If it is a graphics problem, would there be a way to fix it, like replacing the motherboard? Or does it sound like a problem with the screen itself? Thanks.

This is what it looks like btw if that helps any:

Added (1). All drivers are up to date. I forgot to mention, when it does this, pressing the power button or closing the lid usually makes it go back to normal. Also it has Intel HD 4000 graphics, which I believe is integrated so is it possible to fix that?

Sounds like a screen problem. However, usually when the screen fails it goes black, not white. White means you are still getting some sort of input. This leads me to believe that is might be the graphics card. Have you updated drivers and such? Since you have already tore it apart, you might as well try another graphics card. Under no circumstances would you replace the motherboard unless the whole thing died. Also, it may be a simple fix. Check your cords. You might have a bad cord.

Hmm. Now that you say it goes back to normal makes me think it might be a short in the connection from the lid to the bottom. This is common on laptops. Does it ever flicker in and out? Sounds like you might need to take it in.
