My Lenovo Yoga 530 says it is compatible with fast charging, does that mean it just charges fast when it is plugged in or it is compatible with fast charging devices, sorry if this is a stupid question just doesn't charge any faster than my old laptop.
How does fast charging work on a Lenovo 530?
Hey mate that is not a stupid question at all! Rapid charge means it can charge fast. In 15-20 minutes you can charge it for 2 hours use unplugged.
I had the same question last year lol, good luck dude!
Do you like this laptop?
With the 65 watt power supply, charging it for 15 minutes with the laptop turned off is supposed to get you 2 hours of battery time.
Running it while charging will divert power away from the battery and slow down the process (and may also be preventing the fast charging mode).
It requires a fast-charger to fast-charge. Lenovo say that In power-off mode a 65-watt power supply is required for fast charging. 15 minutes of charging will give two additional hours of use when your battery is dwindling.
If you have a charger that is of sufficient wattage to run the fast charger then it will charge fast but in order to use the fast charge feature you have to have a big enough charging box to do it.
