Oh dear it sounds like they had to format the hard disk and re-install windows, I'm sorry to tell you that if you didn't make a backup of all your files (documents, music, photos, games, videos) then they will have been wiped during the format and are lost forever, if on the other hand they replaced the hard disk with a new one then if they still have the original hard disk then you could request it back and send it off to a specialized data recovery company and they will be able to get all your stuff back - its pretty pricy though
