I'm looking for biometric software for a laptop that has a built in fingerprint reader. Any suggestions?

It should be available from the laptop makers web site.
The commonest utility is Authentec Truesuite. It appears this may have been acquired by Microsoft, as apparently if you uninstall the driver from the fingerprint reader, reboot & run Windows update, it should install truesuite for you.
Otherwise, it's available from various PC makers such as Sony, Lenovo etc.
