Hi. I recently purchased Lenovo Yoga Laptop. It's 8gb of RAM, Icore 5. And solid state drive.
I nust started learnig programming. And each time I write something simple like "hello world", it takes few seconds for the program to work. Is it normal for that speed? Or is it good enough for beginners?
Is 8gb of RAM good enough to start programming?
Um yea. More than enough.
Especially if you run some version of Linux, like say Ubuntu, you could run a machine decently with 4GB of RAM.
Especially for most C / C++ / Java types of programs you make, especially as a beginner.
Now if you're talking about web programming, the speed of your apps is usually more dependent on the type of web server you're running.
4GB of RAM is pretty fast on a Linux box and a Mac OS X box (assuming, of course you're not running a lot of other stuff.) Now if you're running a Windows machine, I can't attest to that. I don't use them. But I've generally found Windows machines to be memory hogs for the simplest of things.
More RAM won't improve that.
Yes
8 gigs of RAM and an i5 processor is plenty if I was you I'd be checking to see what is stopping it like too many anti-viruses or some other garbage application running in the background
