It's a brand new laptop I literally only got it for Christmas, It's a lenovo flex, touchscreen thing and I've just been sitting there typing away and it just randomly switches off on it's own? No warning, just the fans stop going screen goes black and I'll turn it back on, working fine then it'll switch off again at another random point?
Laptop keeps randomly switching off?
Tell me something, has your computers fan been making some weird sounds, like chipping noises? If so, the your fan is broken, the reason it keeps shutting off is cause your computer is overheating cause the fan is broken. Go to a computer store and get it fixed.
Just as Osvaldo said. Most likely a Windows Failure, Virus, or wrong Hardware Configuration. If it is still under warrenty, go get your manufacturer to fix it
I agree that something with the cooling might have failed. Is the laptop one with an AMD processor? However, I was advised by one computer repair business not to choose a laptop with an AMD processor because they run much hotter than one with an Intel processor. I also have experienced an older desktop machine overheating and shutting down, also AMD processor. Another system had a motherboard suddenly blowing capacitors and no longer booting after a few years of no problems, also AMD processor. So far, I haven't had these problems with Intel processors.
