That is a very high probability that your graphic chip is damaged!
It is also a high probability that you have set your laptop to go to sleep when it is not used or when its lid is closed. I had a few peeps ask me why the laptop monitor is blank, and it turns out that the computer does not wake up from sleep mode. If you have set your computer to sleep, then you will have to either disconnect power from it including removing the battery, and wait a few minutes, then plug in the battery and the power cord and see what happens.
So many laptops end up in sleep mode and never wake up no matter what keys you press which to me is not a good architecture for computers. If this is your cause, disable sleep mode and you won't have the problem again!
On the other hand, if your graphic chip is damaged which in my travels of fixing peeps laptops such as your model, no matter what you do it will not work because even still today some laptops in my opinion are rigged up that when two years pass by or even when the warranty has expired, they seem to die and usually is the graphic chipset imbedded in the motherboard.
So if your computer is not in sleep mode but has a damaged graphic chip, then you will be better off to toss the motherboard in the garbage and replace it with a different one, else, replacing it with the same model and type will only cause the problem to occur once again. Or you can buy another different model laptop which is recommended.
