So when everi connect my lenovo y510p ideapad to my hd tv using hdmi the colors on tv are alot darker and washed out. The quality is significantly reduced so can any one help me?

Try and change the resolution through the laptop and also go through the tv settings and click auto adgust and change the picture settings to your liking e.g. Contrast/gamma.
