Every time I try to charge my lenovo laptop from a plug in my house, all electrical appliances turn off. I then have to switch them back on from the electrical board (switch). What is causing this problem and is there any way this can be resolved?

Apparently your AC/charger/adapter has a short and causes it to draw to many amps. Sounds like a dead short.

If this happens when you use any plug, then there's a serious fault with the battery pack. It would cost more to get it repaired than the cost of a new one.
If it only happens with one plug, then there's a serious fault with that plug. Call in an electrician.
